Samsung Galaxy A3 which was released in December 2014 was the first Samsung mid-range phone with a metal body. The pioneer of this metallic design definitely has a lot to its credit in features but the exterior is definitely a show stopper. The sleek metallic frame of A3 can give many premium phones a run for their money.
Samsung Galaxy A3 runs on Android v4.4.4 KitKat. The Korean company has plans to upgrade this to the latest Lollipop soon. The phone has a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and a 1GB RAM. These specs might not seem very noteworthy but they can get the job done as long as you do not demand too much from this phone. While advanced game play might not be an option, opening apps from the app drawer and multi tasking can be performed quite smoothly.
A3 has a super AMOLED display which is good to look at and does not appear grainy despite the relatively lower 540x960 pixels resolution. The phone has a 16GB internal memory which can be boosted by an additional 64GB using a microSD card slot. Adding a microSD card is a good idea here as the TouchWiz running atop Android 4.4 can be quite a drain on the internal memory.
The phone has a 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing one. These can click quite decent snaps even when the lighting is not the best. All in all this is a great phone for the common man aspiring to turn some heads with a sleek looking handset that actually works.
